Target Audience
It is my habit to watch "Talk Sex with Sue" on Oxygen late Sunday nights. She's a nurse and sex educator from Toronto, that hosts a call in show.
It's on late at night for a good reason. People call in to ask Sue about health issues related to sex, or "how to" questions about sex. She tells the caller the facts in a non-judgmental way. She doesn't mince words, so she comes off a bit on the perverted side.
I like her attitude that whatever someone is into they should do it in the safest way possible. I believe that people will always have sex, so stressing education is the best thing. Moralizing should take a back seat in favor of promoting responsibility.
Tonight was the second time in a row that I have tuned in to "Talk Sex" and seen commercials during the breaks for Christian CD collections. I thought it was a glitch last time, but after seeing it twice, I figure it must be on purpose. I don't have any idea why.
Granted, I'm a Christian and watch the show. But who decided that buying ad space for "praise and worship" albums among the ads for herbal "enhancement" products and online retailers that will ship in plain brown wrappers?
They only theory I can come up with is that someone is hoping to convert all the sex loving sinners. What other reason would there be to spend good money during a show with a weekly review of sex toys?
