Four Foods on Friday: Chocolate Edition
Our friend Val has prepared a chocolate flavored Four Foods on Friday. She seems to know what flavor my heart is as if she had video cards embedded in my soul. I believe, and live, the idea that a day without chocolate is hardly worth living.
#1. What’s your favorite beverage containing chocolate or chocolate flavoring?
Hot cocoa made on the stove with Hershey's Cocoa and milk. If you only use the "Swiss Miss" style, you're missing out. Recipe is on the package.
#2. What’s your favorite chocolate bar? OR Share a pic of your favorite candy, chocolate or otherwise.
Hershey's with Almond.
#3. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten that had chocolate in it?
I've never eaten anything unusual with chocolate. I love the idea of chocolate in savory dishes like stew, but I've never tried it. Hopefully one of my FFOF peeps will have a recipe to share.
#4. Share a recipe using chocolate.
Mom has made Chocolate Town Pie for years. She got the recipe from a promotional booklet put out by Hershey. Two tips: use Hershey chips (do you see a bias in my answers?) and double the recipe for two pies (trust me).

I love almond in my chocolate, or any nuts for that matter.

Nuts certainly gives our chocolate fix a respectable dose of nutrition, even if we love it for the crunch.

It's already my very favorite type of sushi without even tasting it.

The recipe looks fantastic!

Not only does it taste like heaven, it looks like it was harder to make than it really is. It always impresses.

next time you make stew or chili, just add a square or two of mexican chocolate! no special recipe needed. you can use chocolate extract, too. it's great.

Wonderful. I'll have to try it.

Like a cookie in a pie crust... After talking about it, I'm going to have to make one.

Hot cocoa made from milk really is the best way to have it. I love it with whip cream on top as well.

Whip cream is another one of those good-any-way-you-can-get-it foods.

Um - you don't mind that I copied that recipe, do you? I've gotta check that one out!

I'd be thrilled. I'm sure it will become a pot luck favorite for you.
