Picture of Overtime: Self Portrait Sunday

Photobucket

Getting up at 7 am on my day off to go to work isn't my idea of a good time. Still, the six hours I worked today will ease the next few weeks. Some people might work overtime to save up for used Harleys or dream vacations.

I just want to make sure getting the apartment treated for fleas tomorrow doesn't kill our budget. We're taking the cats on a ride up to one of the big pet stores around 45 minutes away. They have to be out for three hours and it'll be too hot to just take them out to the park.

As a motivator, we stopped for Mcdonald's breakfast. I like to have something filling if I'm working an irregular schedual. If my breaks are off, I get dizzy. Plus, it's nice to relax with Chris and the newspaper on a Sunday even for a few minutues.

My plans for the rest of the evening involve catching up with on-line obligations and the shows recorded on the DVR. First, I'm headed over to Cass' blog to see all the Self Portrait Sunday players.

A little bit of a smile but still very serious. Sometimes that is the way I feel in the early morning.

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog. I have been leaning towards GoDaddy ... seems reasonable and hopefully easy to work. There are so many choices it is difficult to narrow down - my deciding factor is definitely ease of use and reasonable.

One plus with GoDaddy is the tech support. They have a 24 hour operation based in the US, so you always get someone you can understand. Or email support if you prefer. I've always gotten a response within the same day.

Best of luck, no matter who you go with. Your aprons are beautiful.

Oh...I wish I even got paid for overtime. That is NO fun. Hope the flea treatment works.

And they wonder why I don't apply for a management position...

Right now, we are waiting for the bug guy to get here. Cats are in harnesses and sprayed with flea killing stuff. They are so pissed right now.

Good picture! I'll be getting up early to work on my day off next Saturday. Though, maybe I shouldn't admit that I'm actually looking forward to it? It's not going to be a normal day.

I like working Sundays because there are fewer calls and far fewer crazy calls. It's funny I'd saying that today, when I got one of the perverts that calls in every single day, more than once. Seriously gross, but I simply put him on hold until he hung up.

Overtime is great when you can get it! Best of luck with the flea treatments. Good to see you here, too. It's been a while since I've seen you around the web, methinks.

You are right. It has been too long. I've done a bad job balancing my online life. I'm trying some new strategies to get around better. We'll see how it goes.

It is strange that we do not have a flea infestation. My cat goes out side, but I never see a flea on him. I hope that holds true for the new cat we will be bringing home soon.

We did have a problem with our dog at one time. We flea bombed the apartment, but that didn't seem to do a lot of good.

I do hope that you get rid of the fleas, as they are a pain in the ass.

Two of my cats are allergic to the fleas. Eddie, especially, is one giant scab. The other two, you'd hardly notice they have fleas. In the passed couple years we've been able to treat with carpet powder and frontline, but it hasn't worked this year.

If this happened at my condo, my cats would be so offended by being sprayed! I hope you only have to go through this once. And I commend you for working OT to pay for it. I know the economy is bad, I know it's possible that I could be laid off, I try to be more responsible with money ... but I sometimes I lack self discipline.

Thanks for stopping by my blog

We took them out so they could set off bombs. It was not a fun three hours, but it had to be done.

I don't really have self discipline when it comes working overtime. I haven't done it in months and months. We always need the money, just right now between car trouble and fleas we are in a bad spot. I am grateful to have a job with the opportunity to pick up the extra hours.

I have comments from several days that I haven't replied to, never mind finding time just to "go out and visit." I used to do that every day & never seem to squeeze it in lately. I'm working on it, though!

Fleas are a year-round battle here (no winter die-off) and especially bad in my neighborhood because of feral cats that come in all of our yards. I'm a pest management pro & still have a tough time keeping things under control!

I have major cat-mom guilt over the fleas. The hardest thing was that I had to wait until after payday to have the exterminator come. I've signed up for a four month treatment plan. By then it will be winter.

I've started using Google reader to try to keep up with my blog reading. It's still overwhelming, but it keeps me from visiting before there is any new content. With any luck, I won't be such a blogging recluse.

My oldest son spent the night at my MIL's and brought home fleas. My poor cat was traumatized, he had never had a flea before and then all of a sudden his butt was itchy .... and then his fur fell out around the flea bites!! It was awful. It took me three months to get rid of the fleas! His fur is still trying to grow back, poor furball. All from one night spent at flea infested MIL's house.... blah.

I'm glad mine are just from "outside" rather than being able to pinpoint what happened. It's so awful when you can "blame" someone.
